Read moreThe new project, TANGO, aims to improve patient care by using home-based reporting.
- We´ll use, test and further develop a new and innovative solution for home-based reporting for patients with arthritis and spondyloarthritis (formerly Bekhterev's disease), explains projects manager and senior researcher at the National Agency for Rheumatological Rehabilitation (NKRR), Nina Østerås, in the original article published on Diakonhjemmet Hospital´s website.
Recently, the TANGO project received NOK 732,000 in innovation funds from the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority.
The aim of the TANGO project is that patients with spondylarthritis and arthritis should be able to report their disease activity from home using their computer, tablet or mobile phone. In this way, patients can report more often and the monitoring gets more precise. The project will contribute to increased quality of treatment because the health personell gets a better overview of the patient's disease activity.
The DiaGraphIT software GoTreatIT Rheuma is the technical solution used by the project.
- We believe the strategic reporting and monitoring will allow the patients to feel responsible and actively participate in their own health and well-being. In addition, we believe home-based reporting will increase resource utilization, shorter waiting lists and allow nurses to take over some of the doctors' tasks.
The team is committed to developing the best solutions to systematically follow up on patient care.
